My friends, Martina, Tamara and Irena. I've often been thinking about wanting to draw my friends – when we're sitting in a cafe and chit chat, i often turn into a silent weirdo and blankly stare into them, thinking about how great it would be to draw them. Sometimes i say it out loud and they react with something in between being flattered, confused by my randomness or start to comment that i'm always the crazy 'drawing lady'
Since i don't have time to do full portraits of all of the girls that i'd like to draw, i decided to go with something simple, yet effective - a series of minimalistic eye drawings. This was a quick and simple project done in a night in one go, to vent and have some drawing fun. I know eyes are done to death but many of you will agree that they're the most fun part of the face to draw. Not to mention that you can portray someone's expression, feeling and likeness just through eyes. I'm pretty sure i'm not done with doing these. I have at least one more in plan and have already decided whom will be the next 3 girls into whose faces i'll shove my phone to take a picture. I just don't know when, but hopefully i'll have the time to escape from uni obligations and have some more fun with the eyes. After i do the next one, we'll see if i'll feel like doing another one, but probably not. I'll run out of people i like (kidding)
So yes, i have taken the pictures myself and they came out looking horrible because phone cameras tend to distort the face and make beauties into beasts. Luckily i just needed the eyes and cut everything else out i think i have my answer prepared for the next person who asks me about why i do realism and why don't i just take a photo instead. I'll say – I did take photos and they looked horrible and boring until i turned them into drawings. Tee hee
P.S. I've been out of internet for weeks so my apologies for all the unanswered messages and feedback. I will get to my dear old and new watchers as soon as i can, so this is my way of saying thank you in advance for all the favs and comments. I'm using an opportunity to upload this from someone else's PC. Also sorry for making this comment so long – i'm usually a verbal pooper but this time i have a proper excuse. I'm in a serious withdrawal from talking to people about art, so bear with me every detail seemed important. You probably don't agree, so sorry
